Embracing the Summer in Skirts & Flat Shoes: A Trend to Adore

As the seasons shift and fashion tides turn, it's always intriguing to observe what takes center stage in the world of style. This summer, it's clear that wide-legged pants have taken a backseat, leaving room for a more graceful and carefree silhouette – the skirt. The "flat shoes + skirts" combo has emerged as the ultimate fashion formula, promising comfort, style, and a perfect embrace of the summer spirit.

Ladies who keep their fingers on the pulse of fashion have undoubtedly noticed the subtle shift in trends. Gone are the days where wide-leg pants dominated the streets, with only a scattered few sporting them amidst a sea of flowing fabric. Instead, skirts of all shapes and sizes have stolen the spotlight, from elegant pencil skirts to dreamy floral dresses, each exuding an inimitable charm that encapsulates the essence of femininity.

The skirt is more than just a garment; it's a canvas upon which we paint our personalities and moods. Its graceful movements evoke a sense of freedom and elegance, seamlessly blending into the vibrant hues and lazy days of summer. Whether you're strolling through a sun-kissed park or lounging by the poolside, a skirt is the perfect accessory to bring out the best of the season.

But pairing a skirt with the right shoes is crucial. This season, say goodbye to towering heels and cumbersome wedges; flat shoes are the new BFF of the skirt. Not only do they offer unparalleled comfort, making your every step a breeze, but they also effortlessly create a chic, laid-back aesthetic that's perfect for summer. From timeless ballet flats to trendy sneakers and even chic sandals, flat shoes offer endless possibilities for styling, allowing you to mix and match to suit your mood and occasion.

The beauty of this trend lies in its simplicity and versatility. Whether you're dressing up for a casual brunch with friends or dressing down for a lazy afternoon at home, "flat shoes + skirts" is a combination that never fails to deliver. It's a testament to the fact that fashion, at its core, is about feeling good in your own skin and embracing what feels right for you.

So, this summer, don't be afraid to experiment with different skirt styles and flat shoe options. Let your creativity shine as you create outfits that reflect your unique sense of style. Remember, fashion is a language that speaks volumes about who you are, and this season, the message is loud and clear: embrace the beauty of simplicity, freedom, and self-expression through the magic of skirts and flat shoes.

Ways To Make the Most of Your Figure

We all dream of having the perfect figure, but that's not a reality for most of us. We all have problem areas that we wish we could get rid of like having more fat in one area and wishing we could move it to another area, but that is not likely to happen unless we go under a surgeon's knife. But there are some things we can do to help ourselves, such as the way we dress. We can dress to emphasise our good points and hide our bad points. Two women of the same size and build can look very different according to how they dress. Read on to see how you can make the most of your figure.

Wearing darker colours make you look more slimmer while light colours have the opposite effect. So if you are bigger on the hips wear dark colours around there and lighter colours on the top.

If you are slightly on the bigger side or are short in height try to avoid wearing stripes or details on a garment going across your body. This will only make you look bigger. Instead try wearing stripes or detailed garments going down, this will have the effect of making you look slimmer and taller.

Try wearing bright colours or patterns to take the eye away from your problem areas, so such as if you are bigger on the bottom half, wear colour or pattern on the top.

Accessorise your outfits. This will take the attention away from your problem areas, such as a scarf around your neck or interesting jewellery.

Never wear clothes that are too small for you thinking it will make you look smaller because it won't , it will only make you look bigger. If you are a size in between then buy the larger size and have it adjusted.

If you don't own a pair of heeled shoes then buy one. They are a girl's best friend. Not only will they add a few inches to your height but will also have a slimming effect on you and making your overall appearance better. They will be one good investment you make.

Tips to Choose Jeans for Curvy Women

Purchasing jeans for curvy women is an excellent choice but getting a quality pair can often times cost a good deal of money. However, the differences between designer brands compared to generic brands are significant in terms of comfort and how well they make you look. The following are tips to helping you find a quality pair of jeans at discount prices and what factors to consider.

Prior to getting started, it's important that you first know what your size is as you probably don't want a pair that is too big or too small. You can simply go to your local department store to have someone take measurements of your waist so you can get a better fitting pair of jeans. Once you know your size, you should then try on as many pairs as you can from different brands and styles.

Paying full retail these days can really be quiet expensive but shopping at online retail stores or even auction sites will help to save you money. This is the main reason why getting your size right and knowing what brand you want is so important. Just remember that you are not obligated at all to purchase from a department store as you can save by shopping online.

The benefit of shopping at online retail stores is that you can easily able to compare prices while also reading reviews of what others have said. This lets you know exactly what you can expect and whether you are getting a good deal of jeans for curvy women. You can also easily take advantage of clearance sales at local department stores where you can be able to negotiate for lower prices.

cheongsam - Chinese traditional dress (qipao)

Chinese cheongsam is Chinese traditional dress (qipao), which looks rich arid magnificent. Now the cheongsam (qipao) enjoys a growing popularity in the international world of high fashion.

The cheongsam (qipao) is a female long dress with distinctive Chinese features: Its neck is high, collar closed, and its sleeves may be either short, medium or full length, depending on season and taste. The dress is buttoned on the right side, with a loose chest, a fitting waist, and slits up from the sides, all of which combine to set off the beauty of the female shape.

The cheongsam (qipao) can be made of different materials and to varying lengths, they can be worn either on casual or formal occasions. In either case, it creates an impression of simple and quiet charm, elegance and neatness. No wonder it is so much liked by women not only of China but of foreign countries as well.

Wedding wear for men

Men have a lot to wear on their special day. Even more then their loved ones. Let's take a look at them and notice which one of them might be the best for our own wedding. These are not only regular suits.

Suits are the most popular of men outfits. They are probably best for the men that want to look classy. But the suit in the wedding version will help them add more quality to this special ceremony. Often those suits are made of beautiful and unusual materials, very delicate but also tough. And in many colors that you can dream of. Examples we can find in light beige or sparkling white.

Frock coats are bringing to the future times when men were very classy and always wear such fashionable outfits - not only for special evening occasions but everyday. Frock coats look better on men that aren't too high and too big. Jackets of frock coats are a bit longer than the one of the wedding suits but the materials that they are made of might be similar.

Tuxedos look excellent on bodies that are solid and not too thin. The ceremonial character of this outfit is accented by the satin clacks and striped pants. We have to remember that the best color for this kind of outfit is black. And it is rather wearable at night than at days, so it would be better for a late evening wedding.

Tailcoat is nowadays a little bit forgotten, only connected in our mind with conductors at the concerts that they are leading. Very characteristic is the back part of the jacket and its flabs - that are longer and in look similar to a bird, a bird from whom it has a different name - a swallow. It's a bit similar to frock coat in its black color and the stripped-pants.

80s Fancy Dress tips

If you take a look at the music industry's fashion of the 1980s it will give you plenty of pointers for your 80s fancy dress.

Fashion of the 80s moved on from the 1970's by transforming the outrageous harsh Punk styles into softer, friendlier high street clothing. Materials were mixed up. Madonna softened the punk style with a softer and sexier look of nets, gloves and chiffon. Silk and harsh netting created the eighties glam look.

Jewellery - Chains, studs, several earrings worn in one ear, big hair, multi-coloured hair, bold nail varnish and large amounts of jewellery were all 80s fashion trends.

Coloured Hair spray -Non–permanent spray-on hair dye was used in bright or florescent colours of pinks, reds, plum, greens and blues. Spray it on to match your outfit and then wash it out straight away ready for the next colour.

Body shape - Health and fitness were the rage and took over from skinny. It was fashionable to have a body shape and keep it in shape. The eighties gave us the workout video (and also beta!!)and many TV and film stars produced their own exercise regime for the screen. Headbands became a fashion item after Olivia Newton John released her 'Lets get physical' video. If you can carry off the Olivia Newton John outfit of headband, lycra pants and top, with acrylic leg warmers then go for an 80s fancy dress to stun them all! It's a fun look and who knows may start you off an exercise regime!!

Jeans – People still remember the Levi jean advert in 1985 when Nick Kamen stripped off his 501's in the launderette. This Levi jean advert helped promote the blue jeans and we all started spending over £20 for our jeans!
A pair of Levis with trainers can be a very easy 80s fancy dress if you want to keep your outfit low key. Ladies can top it off with a soft ruffled blouse romantic style and the men can wear the Miami Vice no collar style shirt and sneakers.

New Romantics -The New Romantic look that was styled by Vivienne Westwood used frills for a softer look. Princess Diana, Duran Duran and Adam Ant often wore new romantics. This moved on to become the pirate look of the 80s fashion. The men wore waistbands, cummerbunds and jackets with velvet lapels.

The 1980s fashion cover a wide range of outfits. All you have to do is decide what you costume want wear. Madonna, Adam Ant, Jeans and sneakers or Olivia Newton John, they're all fun and will look fabulous.
